Episode 15: Dr Katy Munro - Migraine brain

Dr Katy Munro works at the National Migraine Centre – a charitable organisation providing free migraine management - that has seen self-referrals rocket over the course of the pandemic.  With headaches being one of the most common symptoms of Long Covid we talk about the neurological condition, migraine, and its varying manifestations in both adults and children and are shocked by the parallels we discover with Long Covid.

From the triggers, to symptoms and the potential mechanisms, migraine and Long Covid seem to be antagonistic bedfellows, fluctuating conditions with a myriad of symptoms.  Dr Munro shares her knowledge of successful treatment of migraine and, with many of the strategies mirroring those we are using for Long Covid, this episode is rich with practical advice, even for those of you who might not think you suffer with migraine.

A GP headache specialist, Dr Katy Munro is also author of the incredibly useful Managing Your Migraine book, and host of the podcast Heads Up.
