Episode 11: The Long Covid Brain
This week we speak to…ummm…. who was it again? So many of us recognise this struggle to make our minds work properly while living with Long Covid. ‘Brain Fog’ is the loose name given the feeling of having to wade through thick glue in order to remember facts, dates or names. This week we were lucky enough to have a very interesting conversation about what is going on in our brains with consultant neurologist Dr. Hadi Manji. Manji is leading a neurological team that is looking at the effects of Long Covid on the brain. He walks us through what he hypothesises may be the different mechanisms for some of the malfunctions and neurological conditions so many of us are dealing with on a daily basis. Migraines, dizziness, tingling, brain fog, loss of senses…. plus so many more. He even offers some good basic advice about how to deal with some of the post-viral neurological effects of Covid 19.
